AVANTGARDE ACOUSTIC DUO MEZZO

The DUO PRIMO, award winning top model of the DUO range, opened the eyes of the Avantgarde Acoustic engineers: the DUO OMEGA mid-high horn satellites simply deserve a horn loaded bass unit! This idea of a ‘full range horn system’ finally led to the DUO MEZZO as a ‘little sister’ of the PRIMO.

Almost identical with the PRIMO in technical details, the MEZZO’s styling forms a bridge to the rack-mount look and appearance of the classical DUO range of speakers, while still keeping its independent character as a fully hornloaded speaker.
The MEZZO’s performance, especially in reproducing the deep bass range, makes it evident: such easiness and power is - and will always be – an exclusive domain of big full range horn systems.

The DUO GROSSO

The successful introduction of the DUO OMEGA model inspired the Avantgarce Acoustic engineers to develop a bigger subwoofer unit for the DUO OMEGA line of speakers, complementing the SUB225 standard subwoofers. The challenge was not only to offer improved bass and low midrange performance, but also to still meet the classical DUO OMEGA appearance. By incorporating the tweeter into the subwoofer cabinet, the resulting SUB231-G subwoofer achieves this goal perfectly, finally creating the DUO GROSSO model.

The DUO OMEGA

With the DUO OMEGA the innovative OMEGA and CPC technology, first applied in the TRIO models, finally reaches the DUO range of speakers. The DUO OMEGA’s exclusive drivers ultimately reveal the full audiophile potential of the 670 mm midrange and 180 mm tweeter horns of the DUO range, offering sonic and musical fascination par excellence.

The DUO PRIMO

Based on the success of the hornspeakers SOLO, UNO, DUO and TRIO OMEGA, Avantgarde Acoustic became the market leader for spherical high end horn speakers. The character of these "classic" SYSTEM line speakers is their sophisticated horn technology and the unique open frame design, which became the distinctive trademark of the German horn speaker manufacturer.

The UNO PICCO

In the concept of the UNO PICCO, Avantgarde Acoustic succeeds in bringing the sophisticated horn technology of the UNO series, with its characteristic midrange horn, to an unprecedented level - but still representing one of the smallest floor standing speakers ever available from Avantgarde Acoustic. Like the "classic" SYSTEM line speakers, mounted in frames, the UNO PICCO meets the highest audiophile standards, but requires only a fraction of the space.

The Solo

Proudly taking its place in a legendary family of Hornspeakers - UNO, DUO and TRIO -, the SOLO is the first compact full range horn system from Avantgarde Acoustic. The SOLO - with its graceful futuristic design - is a full-blooded member of the Avantgarde family. The famous Avantgarde virtues - which have made Avantgarde Acoustic the most sought after and acclaimed loudspeakers - are all present and accounted for in the SOLO: precise reproduction, powerful drive, and involving dynamics. The SOLO is a fully active, coaxial 2-way horn system in a bass reflex enclosure. With its powerful integrated 250 Watt amplifier and its point-source dispersion characteristics it is simple to be set up and can be easily matched to different acoustical environments.

The DUO

The DUO combines all of Avantgarde Acoustic´s technological and creative potential, resulting in a most sophisticated two way horn system. With its 670 mm midrange horn, a driver system of exclusive quality and precise integration of all components, this system offers unrivaled performance across the sound spectrum.

The TRIO

The TRIO is a 3-way hornspeaker system, equipped with additional active subwoofer systems for the bass range below 100 hz. Its hybrid concept with self-powered subwoofers and the really outstanding sensitivity (109 dB/W/m) makes it easy to drive with any amplifier and delivers ultimate dynamics and resolution.

The TRIO Classico

The TRIO Classico version incorporates a circular support. Contrary to static constructions the rounded shape of the TRIO Classico perfectly reflects the dynamics of the spherical horns. Its unique shape has become the immense trademark of Avantgarde Acoustic for the past 15+ years now.
The Classico version is the logic visualization of the outstanding technical features of the TRIO: the art of simple music reproduction to become a voluptuous experience involving all senses. As thrilling and exciting as a real concert.

Basshorns...

...are one of the last myths of high end audio. This mythical quality is emphasised by their sheer size - which is determind by physics - and by their potential of providing for ultimate punch and clarity in the bass range.
But accomodating a hornloaded bass so far demanded a huge commitment: either by compulsory use of corners, by necessary construction work in your listening room, or by lack of deep bass (due to "reasonable" horn dimensions). Avantgarde Acoustic now succeeded in designing and engineering a highly flexible modular horn subwoofer which accomodates to various environmental and acoustical conditions.
